Caner Turan (Founder)
He graduated from Boğaziçi University Civil Engineering Department in 2008. In 2011, he completed his master's degree at the Philosophy Department of Boğaziçi University. During this period, he participated in various seminars and summer schools in countries such as Denmark, India, Portugal. He is also graduate of Art History from Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University.
He received acting and diction trainings in 2012 at Batman Art Theater and in 2013 at Sarıyer Municipal Theater. He took part in theater plays such as "With Masks," "Three Day World," "A Marriage Proposal," "Momo" and various short film projects during this period. Most recently, he played with the game "Believing", which is a collage of short plays with BiTakım Players.
During his improvisational theater work, he attended improvised mask workshop named Improv Masks by Steve Jarand, and a silent improvisation workshop by Elena Lah named Silence and Precious Metals. He still appears before the audience with improvised theater performances in various venues within the team and continues his acting adventure with new projects.
Believing in the contribution of the improvised theater to personal development, he launched a formation called Ludus Oyun Eğitim (Ludus Act Education) in May 2019 (L: (Liderlik) Leadership, U: (Uyum) Harmony, D: (Doğaçlama) Improvisation, U: (Uygulama) Practice, S: (Sinerji) Synergy). Under this formation, it organizes entertaining, interactive, improvisational workshops based on leadership, entrepreneurship, and business life for corporate employees and communities.
What We Do
Improvisation theatre is a kind of performance made through the interaction with audiences. By taking some suggestions from audiences (such as a location, a word, an emotion, an object etc.), the play is set up at that moment without any pre-script, any object, any decoration, any special costumes etc. In improvisation theatre, nothing is known before the moment of performance at stage. Improvisation theatre improves collective movement and acting. It opens our creative fields by using our own humane tools. It gives a chance to express ourselves in an artistic form. The experiential structure of it through many exercises and games creates an opportunity to explore yourself, your potential for risk taking, your focus not only on inner self but also on your environment, your creativity, your flexibility to the changing situations, your freedom to fail, your openness to surprises by freeing yourself of being judged, committing to the unknown, spontaneity and acceptance.
Within the scope of workshops under Ludus Oyun Eğitim (Ludus Act Education), the journeys on the foundations of the improvised theater through various games and game formats are aimed to create added value in a targeted way by integrating and intersecting with the different themes requested.
